2003 Brings Emphasis on Customer Focus

Avantext announces new management, business practices to emphasize total customer satisfaction

Reading, PA - January 9 2003:
Avantext, Inc. enters its eleventh year looking forward to a positive future. Still running strong following the fall in General Aviation after September 11th, Avantext, Inc. has taken the opportunity to rebuild for a bright future. This past year we’ve seen many changes at Avantext, and 2003 is on track to be our best year ever. First and foremost Avantext has a new President. Mr. Kurt Schoenkopf joined Avantext in early October. Mr. Schoenkopf brings with him a wealth of experience in strategy, product pricing and development, as well as financial management. Mr. Schoenkopf returns to his native Philadelphia area after twelve years living and working throughout the world gaining valuable experience in such varied locations as Spain, Brazil, Chile, India, and the United Kingdom. Fluent in Spanish and passable in Portuguese, "Mr. Schoenkopf adds a fresh and new perspective to our business," said Mr. Charles Close, Chairman of the Board.

"My first priority has been to understand the industry and our customers," said, Mr. Schoenkopf. He continues to say, "Our customers are why we are here and we will be listening to them. Our highest priority is meeting our customer expectations. Our goal is 100% satisfaction 100% of the time." Avantext will meet this goal through active client participation in the product development process. Avantext has set an aggressive product introduction schedule.

Qualitative as well as quantitative research tools will be deployed to enhance the Avantext product library so that we may better understand and address the needs of our customers. The first big change has been to remove the registration process for all new and renewing customers of Avantext’s Airworthiness Directives products. Enhancements across the entire product line can be expected and will ensure that an Avantext subscription will offer seamless, consistent, and easy to use airworthiness compliance and TechPubs™ software.

The Sales organization has been expanded and redefined by territories to further meet our customers’ needs. Jeff Levan will be responsible for the Western Region. Francisco Magaña will take the lead on Latin America and International. New additions to the Avantext team will be Kate Hunchar who will handle the Northeast and Eastern Canada; Sam Fyock, Southeast; and Chuck Knutson, Midwest and Western Canada. In the coming weeks Avantext clients will be advised of their dedicated account representative.

Avantext is uniquely positioned to leverage its strengths as an electronic publisher of Aviation Technical Documentation. Being one of the first aviation technical publishers to offer electronic products we have developed a broad depth of understanding in the use of various platforms and what works best for our customers.

For example:
  • Adobe® Acrobat Reader offers incredible functionality and ease of use.
  • Search functions save time and money by quickly getting the user to needed information.
  • Print functions give you what you want - no document reformatting is necessary. The print output is in a useable format, exactly as the author intended it to be viewed.
  • Zooming in and out to meet one’s particular viewing needs saves time spent searching on fiche or paper for the right answer.
  • View rotation allows the user to emulate how the part will be seen on the shop floor.
  • All Avantext products ship with Adobe® Acrobat Reader.
  • The end user is not required to add anything to their existing hardware configuration.
Avantext’s time saving features benefit our customers by allowing them to devote more resources to aircraft maintenance.

Avantext further understands that this business is in its infancy. Paper and fiche are technologies of the past. The Avantext technical platform allows for improved productivity. Any operation that has spent time filing, storing, locating and replacing paper and fiche products understands that 10 CDs and in some cases 1 DVD offer superior manageability and portability. Has anyone ever tried to go remote with 40 pounds of paper in the driving rain? What about that one unfiled update lost in a paper library the size of a garage? There are clear advantages in using the electronic format. And best of all it offers a consolidated source of information that does not require maintenance. From our headquarters in Reading, PA, Avantext will be reaching out to our customers to identify manufacturers and manuals that enhance repair station operations. We will be working closely with our subsidiary operations in St. Lucia to further enhance and shorten product development life cycles and ensure Avantext continues offering a superior return on investment while maintaining the highest quality standards.
